An NHL Christmas Wish List

With only one week left until Christmas, shopping for gifts is in full swing. There are plenty of things on my own wish list but there should also be some important things on a few NHL teams list. As the new year approaches, some teams need to be wishing for some improvements if they want to turn their seasons around. Here is what four teams should be wishing for this Christmas.

LA Kings- The Kings should be wishing for more goals this Christmas. They are tied with the New York Islanders for last in goals scored with only 69. They would benefit greatly from the return of Mike Richards from a concussion but the return of one player will not fix everything. They came into the season expected to be one of the more dominant teams, and yesterday against the Detroit Red Wings they out shot them 29-27. But they still lost 8-2, which is just more evidence that something needs to be done with their scoring.

Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins- Both of these teams are hoping for fast recoveries from both their top centers and top defencemen. Both Claude Giroux on the Flyers and Sidney Crosby on the Penguins have missed extensive time due to concussion while Chris Pronger on the Flyers and Kris Letang on the Penguins have also been sidelined for a while. Though both these teams are still dominating the Eastern Conference this season, if those four players returned, their teams would be greatly improved. With all of the success both teams from Pennsylvania are having, all they can wish for is that their star's return healthier and when ready.

Anaheim Ducks- The Ducks are a team that needs wins. To get their wins they are going to need goals and saves from their whole team which has been difficult to buy all season. This is another team that has not met their preseason expectations and is in need of some sort of boost in their goal scoring if they want to turn this season around. I expect a trade in January that should try to solve that problem, because with only 9 wins, the Ducks need some sort of player change.

Those are just some of the wishes teams will be asking for this Christmas season. We will just have to wait until 2012 to see if those wishes come true.
