All Star Game Player Ballot Surprise

The NHL released the updated totals of the fan vote for the players to start in the All Star game this january in Carolina. Sidney Crosby, the leagues leader in goals and points leads all players with 319,809 votes followed by Jonathan Toews and Steven Stampkos with Alex Ovechkin staying in a distant fourth. The surprise came for defenseman votes as Crosby's teammate Kris Letang jumped over hard hitting defensman Chris Pronger, Duncan Keith and Nick Lidstrom to become the top vote getting defenseman. The goaltenders vote leader is still Carry Price followed by rookie Sergei Bobrovsky but Marc Andre Fleury is gaining on the leaders to stay in the race.
